What is the best way to reserve Seaview Cottage?

The best way to reserve dates at Seaview Cottage is to book directly on this website via the "BOOK NOW" button.  Seaview Cottage is not yet listed on Airbnb or VRBO.  Those sites add service/booking fees that can add up to 15% onto your total.  I'm happy to answer any questions prior to booking - janel.draz@icloud.com

What is your cancellation policy and rate information?

Guest receives 100 % (less $25.00 cancellation fee) if cancellation occurs at least 14 days before arrival; No refunds within 14 days of arrival.  We recommend travel insurance coverage which offers coverage in some scenarios.  Please see the rates page for more details.  

Do you have a minimum night stay?

Minimum 2-night stay required most of the year, with the following exceptions:

• 5-Night minimum stay during Christmas Vacation

Does Seaview Cottage have an ocean view?

Yes, Seaview Cottage has a beautiful panoramic view of the ocean, some of the Three Arch Rocks, and Cape Lookout to the south.  Since the cabin sits up on a hillside you have a Pacific Ocean stadium view of the sea, birds, and sometimes hang gliders, paragliders and whales.  See photos > 

How far are you from the beach?

The cottage features easy beach access via a backyard staircase and then a short 3 block walk.  Or you can make the short drive to Oceanside Beach State Recreation Site parking lot or Symons State Park access (Note: This is a steep trail down from roadside parking).

Can we come early or stay late?   

Maybe!  Please inquire a few days prior to your stay as we offer a few options for arriving early or departing later (Flex Check).  The standard check-in time is 4pm.  The standard check-out time is 11am.  Please do not arrive early or stay late without permission as this can disrupt our cleaner's schedule.  Flex Check offers early check in after 10am for $25 and late check out before 5pm for $25.  It's a great way to squeeze some extra time out of your vacation, but it is subject to availability so please ask.  

Are you dog friendly? 

Yes, Seaview Cottage is dog friendly.  We have a dog fee of $25 per night for a maximum of two dogs.  We asked that you bring mature dogs only and do not leave them unattended in the house (they can be kenneled or go with you).  Please bring dog beds and/or blankets for your pup.  There is an outside rinse off area with hot & cold water under the car port for sandy paws and human friends feet too.  

Are we allowed to smoke at Seaview  Cottage?

No, Seaview Cottage is a completely smoke free property both inside & outside. 

What personal care amenities are included?

Seaview Cottage provides all the basics: shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and bar soap.  Hair dryers are also provided in each bathroom.

Are linens included?

Yes.  Seaview Cottage includes sheets & bed linens, as well as bath towels, beach towels & extra blankets for your comfort. 

What's provided for cooking?

Seaview Cottage supplies basic seasonings/spices & cooking items, such as salt, pepper, oil, sugar, & flour.  We also have assorted condiments.  The refrigerator is cleaned for guests.  Some coffee, tea, or other basic cooking items are provided.  The bakeware and cooking utensils in the kitchen are very thorough for a vacation home.

Is there a grill? 

Not yet.  A barbecue and terrace seating are coming soon.

Can I squeeze in extra guests if they don't mind bringing sleeping bags?  

No. We follow our maximum occupancy listed for the comfort and safety of all guests.  

Do you have cable TV & wifi?

Yes, we have good wifi and many guests have done work and school from Seaview Cottage.  We do have a large selection of cable TV channels - a list can be provide upon request.  

Do you have a phone?

The house has a phone which also has a back-up system and will work for 24 hours after any power outage.  Cell phone coverage can be non existent in Oceanside, iPhones work well when on the wifi.

Do guests have access to a laundry room?

Yes, we have a washer & dryer for guests to use during their stay, as well as detergent.

Do you need a permit to operate a vacation rental? 

Yes, Tillamook County requires owners to complete a safety inspection and have an annual permit.  Our Short Term Vacation Rental Permit Number: 851-21-000050-STVR.  We collect & remit both state and county taxes to support our local economy.

Can I ship a package?

Our address is not serviced by the United States Postal Service.  FedEx & UPS deliver to our home. 

Is there AC? 

Yes, there is AC via a mini split upstairs.  You can also opt to open the sliding glass door and windows to get a nice breeze which usually is sufficient.  The downstairs typically stays cool and does not have AC.

What baby gear do you have at Seaview Cottage?

Seaview Cottage offers a pack-n-play for families.  We also offer a kids portable bath tub since there is no bath tub.

Thanks for booking!  You'll receive a confirmation of your dates, your card will be charged the balance due 14 days prior to your stay, and then approximately 2 days before your stay you will receive an email with lockbox key code and welcome packet full of details.  If you have questions before then please feel free to reach out anytime. 

Who are you?

Seaview Cottage is co-owned by two families who have owned a beach house on this lot for over 40 years. The old cabin was removed after a water leak and foundation issue and the new Seaview Cottage was completed in February 2021. Our families are excited to share this new cottage and a deep knowledge of the surrounding area, and activities, unique to Oceanside, Oregon.  Please let us know if you have any questions.
